THEATRE
DINNER PACKAGE: The Criterion with Phantom of The Opera
|
Located
on Piccadilly Circus, The Criterion Brasserie is London's only
neo-Byzantine restaurant - an outstanding example of its genre, both elegant
and breathtakingly beautiful. The inviting entrance, edged in azure and
flanked by tall palms, leads to a vast bar from which ornate lamps cast
an amber glow over Oriental rugs decorating the floor. In the main room
are high marble walls hung with enormous paintings of oriental spice merchants,
flanked by silk lanterns, conjuring up images of ancient Persia. Divided
from the main room scrolled pillars and silk drops, The Terrazzo is inspired
by ancient Constantinople, its ceiling encrusted with glittering gold
mosaics. The
hallmark of the food is simplicity and quality - predominantly French
and inspired by celebrated master chef Marco Pierre White. For a romantic
dinner for two, or a major party for 300, The Criterion offers exceptional
food in captivating surroundings. "Unique" is a term frequently misused,
but at The Criterion, it can be applied with total justification.

With
some of the most lavish sets, costumes and special effects ever to have
been created for the stage, The Phantom of The Opera traces the tragic
love story of a beautiful opera and a young composer shamed by his physical
appearance into a shadowy existence beneath the majestic Paris Opera House.
Adapted from Gaston Leroux's classic novel of mystery and suspense, this
award winning musical has woven its magical spell over audiences in over
60 cities worldwide. |
